The Holy Wednesday

Church bell at Saleby, SwedenToday is the Holy Wednesday, that marks there should be peace and joy before the big weekend.

In the past they wrapped fabric around the church bells clappers so the blade would dull or so they changed them out entirely to wooden clappers. This marked the holiday was on its way and it persists even today, for example, the church´s music is muted during Easter. This is a sign of respect for Christ’s suffering.

I didn’t have so much more to say and I’m sorry for the late update!
